Please listen

I heard tell once of a man, a scientist who claimed to be able to change the shape of water by the power of the mind.  Prayer, kind words, he proposed, form each molecule into the most amazing shape.

Delicate as snowflakes, wonderfully, uniquely intricate.

Gossamer, yet what strength.

A liquid solidness even as they melt.

Negative, hate filled words however, cannon into the water, apocalyptic, destructive to that vitality of existence.  These destroyed molecules, fragile, are clumped, misshapen.  Deformed lumps.

Yet.

Watch.

Cup that lump in your palm.  Rest your hand for a moment, on the surface of the whole, those melted snowflakes gathered into one.  Open your hand, and let the others hold this creature.  Each molecule perfectly in place, moving together in the breath of water.  Speak kind words to it, this damaged lump, and watch it reform to become that extraordinary sparkle caught in the arms of the waves.  It does not carry the others, it is carried, yet it is the burn on our retinas as we close our eyes to listen.  Please listen.
